Lautaro Martinez, Mike Maignan and Nicolò Barella share Serie A top rating in EA Sports FC 27
Inter dominate Serie A ratings as Milan clubs stay unlicensed
EA Sports FC 27 has been out since 25 September, and three weeks into its life the Serie A picture inside the game looks familiar. Inter supply four of the league’s ten highest-rated players; Mike Maignan shares the top spot with Lautaro Martinez and Nicolò Barella, and both Milan clubs are once again playing under made-up names.
For Ultimate Team players building around Italian football, that combination shapes how squads come together and where in-game currency goes. Serie A teams have a structural advantage in the market because the league’s best players are spread across a handful of clubs, strong chemistry links are easy to find, and a backbone of Inter players covers defence, midfield and attack in one go.
Top ten Serie A players in FC 27
EA’s ratings list for Serie A is led by a three-way tie at 87 OVR:
- 1. Lautaro Martinez – Inter – 87
- 2. Mike Maignan – Milan – 87
- 3. Nicolò Barella – Inter – 87
The next tier is led by Scott McTominay – Napoli – 86, followed by Federico Dimarco – Inter – 86, Gleison Bremer – Juventus – 86, Marco Carnesecchi – Atalanta – 86, Alessandro Bastoni – Inter – 86. Luka Modric – Milan – 85 and Kevin De Bruyne – Napoli – 85 complete the top ten.
Hakan Calhanoglu, Adrien Rabiot, Paulo Dybala, Marcus Thuram and Mile Svilar sit just outside at 85. Napoli’s pair of McTominay and De Bruyne give Allegri’s side the strongest midfield duo outside Milan, while Bremer is Juventus’ only representative.
Among Italian players, EA’s official Italy ratings put Gianluigi Donnarumma top at 89, ahead of Barella at 87 and Dimarco at 86. Atalanta goalkeeper Carnesecchi and Bastoni follow at 86, with Sandro Tonali on 85.
Why Inter and Milan appear as Lombardia FC and Milano FC
For the third year running, both Milan clubs are missing their official names, badges and kits. Inter appear as Lombardia FC, Milan as Milano FC, and Atalanta as Bergamo Calcio. San Siro is not in the game either.
The reason is Konami. As VGC reported when the arrangement began, Inter and Milan signed exclusive deals with eFootball, which means EA’s Serie A licence does not extend to their branding. Player names and likenesses are covered by a separate FIFPRO agreement, so Lautaro, Maignan and the rest still look and play like themselves.
There is one piece of good news for Italian fans. Lazio, who appeared as Latium in earlier editions, return with full branding in FC 27. The article notes the timing is good with Gattuso’s side currently level at the top of the Serie A table.
What else is new in FC 27
EA has added the FUT Gallery to Ultimate Team, a collection layer that rewards players for completing sets of past and present player items. Career Mode has a rebuilt transfer market with new negotiation tactics and player values that move with form. The Grounds, a new social hub that extends the Clubs experience, is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
Ratings will shift as the season goes on through in-form cards and live updates. With four Inter players in the league’s top ten, Inter coverage is a good place to track whose card is likely to move next.
FC 27 coins and Ultimate Team
Coins are the currency that drives Ultimate Team. They are earned by playing matches, completing objectives and Squad Building Challenges, and selling unwanted players on the transfer market, where EA keeps 5 percent of each completed sale as tax. They are then spent on players, consumables and items needed to finish a squad.
Alongside the in-game economy, a market for coins exists on third-party platforms. EA’s user agreement does not allow coins to be traded outside the game, and the publisher has historically sanctioned accounts it links to third-party coin transfers.
