Barcelona make Cancelo move permanent

FC Barcelona have confirmed the permanent signing of Portuguese full-back João Cancelo from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal. The defender joins on a permanent transfer basis and has signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

"I'm ready to play"

The move ends Cancelo's previous loan arrangements and makes his stay at the Catalan club definitive. The Portuguese full-back begins what is his third spell as a blaugrana player and conveyed his delight at joining the Club.

"I'm ready to play," Cancelo said, underlining his eagerness to contribute after completing the switch.

The 32-year-old's permanent arrival gives the coaching staff an experienced option on the flanks as Barcelona prepare for the season ahead at a renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
