Lautaro Martínez out for seven games as Qatari fund circles Inter stake

Lautaro blow compounded by takeover talk

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez will miss at least seven matches after suffering a flexor injury, ruling him out of the looming Milan derby. The setback comes after Inter confirmed on 15 October 2026 that the Argentine had sustained a hamstring strain in his left thigh following tests at the Humanitas Institute.

The striker is expected to be back "after the break," with the derby on 31 October and a return against Atalanta on 22 November seen as a realistic target. Youngster Pio Esposito is set to lead the line in Bologna this weekend in his absence.

Adding intrigue to a difficult week for the Nerazzurri, Tuttosport reports that a Qatari fund tied to the Al Thani family is aiming to enter Inter with a minority stake, with a view to increasing its holding further down the line.
