Hampshire sign Essex all-rounder Eva Gray on two-year deal
Hampshire complete signing of Essex all-rounder Eva Gray
Hampshire have announced the signing of Essex all-rounder Eva Gray on a two-year deal, bringing one of the most productive bowlers in this summer's Vitality Blast to the Utilita Bowl.
The 26-year-old arrives with a strong pedigree. She was part of the London Spirit squad that won The Hundred in 2024 and finished as Essex's leading wicket-taker in the 2026 Vitality Blast with 17 wickets.
Impressive record over two seasons
Gray has been a mainstay of the Essex side over the past two campaigns, playing 53 times across all formats and taking 63 wickets while contributing 239 runs with the bat.
That consistent output made her one of the standout performers in the domestic women's game, and Hampshire have moved quickly to secure her services for the next two years.
Gray 'really excited' to join Hampshire
The all-rounder says she is looking forward to the fresh challenge in Hampshire, having faced the club many times during her career.
"I'm really excited to be joining Hampshire," Gray said. "I've played a lot of cricket against them over the years, so I know they're a very successful side with a fantastic group of players and staff who I'm really keen to learn from."
She also highlighted the environment she has observed from the outside, adding: "The Utilita Bowl always has a great atmosphere, and I've been really impressed by how the club supports its women's side, which is hugely exciting to be a part of."
Gray now links up with a Hampshire set-up she knows well from her time on the opposing side, with the club's backing of its women's programme a key factor in her decision to make the switch from Essex.
