T20 World Cup 2026 to send each group’s top two into Super Eights

Group standings will decide the first eight qualifiers

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 group stage is scheduled to run from February 7 to 20, with 40 matches across eight venues in India and Sri Lanka. The 20 teams are split into four groups of five, and each team will play four matches. Points earned in those games will determine the group standings, with the top two from each group advancing to the Super Eights, which begin on February 21.

Four groups, with India and Pakistan drawn together

Group A comprises India, the USA, Pakistan, the Netherlands and Namibia. India and Pakistan are scheduled to meet in Colombo on February 15. Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland and Oman make up Group B. Group C features England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Italy and Nepal, while South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada and the UAE are in Group D.

Knockout rounds follow the Super Eights

After the Super Eights, the four highest-placed teams will progress to the knockout rounds. The semi-finals are scheduled for Kolkata or Colombo and Mumbai. The final is set for March 8 in Ahmedabad or Colombo.
