Roberto De Zerbi insists that securing a first Premier League victory of the season will be the catalyst to unlocking Tottenham Hotspur's misfiring attack as they prepare to host Everton on Saturday.

Spurs have endured a frustrating start to the league campaign, losing their opening two matches before picking up a solitary point in a goalless stalemate against Nottingham Forest. Despite heavy investment in the transfer window, Tottenham remain one of only three sides yet to find the back of the net in the top flight this season, having registered 37 shots worth 2.6 expected goals (xG) without conversion.

Summer addition Omar Marmoush missed two golden opportunities in the draw at Forest, but De Zerbi is convinced the goals will soon flow once his players break their psychological barrier.

"[We can improve in the final third] with meetings, watching, analysing together with the players," De Zerbi said. "Also, I think winning the games because, you know, the confidence, the enthusiasm, it can be crucial to find the right decision. I love these players."

Backing his forward line, the Italian tactician added: "I spoke about Marmoush; we have to analyse if he has, or not, 15, 12 goals. I think yes, because he has all the qualities, enough to score that number of goals. He has to improve, of course, like Dominic Solanke. I think if Domi is fit, is in the best physical condition, the chance he had was completely different."

Everton Ride Unbeaten Momentum

In contrast to Spurs' struggles in front of goal, Everton travel to north London unbeaten through three matches under David Moyes. Following an opening-round triumph against Crystal Palace, the Toffees showed remarkable resilience with back-to-back stoppage-time equalisers against Bournemouth and Manchester United.

Deadline-day signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles made an instant impact on his club debut, scoring the late equaliser against United after Everton's late pursuit of Folarin Balogun fell through.

"They know the size of the squad we've got," Moyes said regarding squad depth. "But sometimes it gives players an opportunity to show what they can do. Sometimes, having too many players in the camp gives you problems behind the scenes; squads are too big, and players moan because they aren't in it. Players will be given opportunities, and that's where they will be judged in how they do."

For Tottenham, young forward Mathys Tel has been a bright spark despite the team's finishing woes, leading the Premier League with 10 completed dribbles while registering five shots. Only Pedro Porro (six) has attempted more efforts for Spurs.

However, Tottenham will be desperate to avoid setting an unwanted record, as they have never failed to score in their opening four league fixtures of a season.
