New Addition to Gambhir's Support Staff

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Subhadeep Ghosh as the new fielding coach for the Indian Men’s Team. The 57-year-old former Assam and Railways player steps into the role following the departure of T Dilip, whose contract was not renewed after India's tour of Zimbabwe.

Ghosh's first major assignment with the senior squad will be the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka scheduled for August. He joins a coaching panel led by head coach Gautam Gambhir, which already includes Sitanshu Kotak as batting coach and Morne Morkel as bowling coach.

A Proven Coaching Track Record

Ghosh brings extensive experience to the national setup. He played 17 first-class matches between 1994 and 2004 and later served as the head coach of the Assam Senior Men's Team. His resume also includes stints at the National Cricket Academy, working with India A, the women's national team, and high-profile IPL franchises including the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) celebrated the appointment, highlighting Ghosh's contribution to the game. In an official release, the ACA stated:

“Over the years, he has built an impressive coaching profile by working with various Indian teams across different age groups, earning recognition for his dedication and expertise. Assam Cricket Association takes immense pride in this significant achievement by one of Assam's own."

The association added that his appointment is a "moment of great honour" and serves as an inspiration for aspiring cricketers and coaches throughout the region.
