MI London 183/6 (100 balls) beat Manchester Super Giants 138 (95 balls) by 45 runs

Rashid Khan delivered the standout performance of the 2026 Men's Hundred so far, claiming the tournament's first five-wicket haul to propel MI London to a comprehensive 45-run victory over Manchester Super Giants at The Oval.

Half-centuries from Will Jacks and Nicholas Pooran had laid the foundation for MI London's imposing total of 183 for 6 — their highest score in this Hundred edition — before Rashid's devastating spell of 5 for 17 ripped through the Super Giants chase, restricting them to 138 in just 95 balls. The victory lifted MI London to second on the points table.

Jacks and Pooran set the stage

Elected to bat first, MI London came out firing. Jacks led the charge with a blistering 62 off 31 balls, well-supported by James Vince in a 71-run opening stand that came in only 42 deliveries. Liam Dawson eventually ended Vince's stay, but Nicholas Pooran walked in and wasted no time, dispatching the spinner for a six and a four immediately.

Jacks reached his fifty off 28 balls with a maximum off Noor Ahmad, adding another six and a four before the left-arm wrist spinner finally dismissed him. At 121 for 2 after 70 balls, MI London were perfectly positioned for a late onslaught — and they delivered, plundering 62 runs from the next 30 deliveries.

Sam Curran smashed two sixes off Gus Atkinson, while Pooran took apart Sonny Baker with a six and a four. Noor Ahmad removed Sam Curran for a brisk 23 off 11, but Pooran kept the momentum going, hammering Atkinson for two sixes and two fours across successive deliveries to bring up a 25-ball fifty.

MI London appeared set to breach the 200-run mark after reaching 174 with 10 balls remaining, but Super Giants pulled things back impressively at the death, conceding only nine runs while taking three wickets. Josh Tongue finished with excellent figures of 2 for 13 from 20 balls, removing Pooran and Sherfane Rutherford in his final set, while Baker dismissed Tom Curran off the last ball.

Rashid derails the chase

Super Giants began their chase positively, with the openers racing to 59 in 30 balls. Aiden Markram, who scored the bulk of the runs in the opening stand, brought up a 25-ball fifty. However, Rashid Khan's introduction changed the complexion of the game entirely.

The Afghanistan legspinner had Tim Seifert bowled and then accounted for Jos Buttler, who was sent back thanks to a fine catch from Nathan Sowter close to the deep midwicket boundary. Sowter soon dismissed Markram as well, leaving Super Giants reeling at 74 for 3.

Leus du Plooy and Heinrich Klaasen attempted to stabilise the innings, guiding Super Giants past 100. But Klaasen, who had struck a six off Rashid, fell shortly after to a good catch from Sam Curran. Tom Moores departed in the same set, and Liam Dawson followed soon after as Super Giants collapsed to 109 for 6, with Rashid having claimed five of those wickets.

The pacers then wrapped up the tail, with Tom Curran bagging a couple of wickets while Richard Gleeson and Trent Boult picked up one each as Super Giants' innings folded in 95 balls.
