Luis Binks reveals he rejected Jose Mourinho to pursue first-team football

Binks explains Tottenham exit

New Scotland squad defender Luis Binks has revealed the difficulty of rejecting a new Tottenham Hotspur contract against the wishes of then-manager Jose Mourinho.

Binks, who left the north London club in search of first-team experience, said:

"To say no to Jose Mourinho is a difficult thing."

The defender's decision to turn down a new deal at Tottenham has been vindicated by his subsequent call-up to the Scotland squad, with the centre-back now focused on establishing himself at international level.
