Barcelona cut ties with reserve forward Alan Godoy after loan spells
Barcelona have officially parted ways with reserve-team forward Alan Godoy after reaching an agreement to terminate the 23-year-old's contract at the Camp Nou, the club confirmed this week.
The Canarian striker, comfortable operating either through the middle or out on the wing, only arrived at the club in February of last year on a permanent transfer from Eldense. He made an instant impression at Barca Atletic, finding the net three times in nine appearances during the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
However, it quickly became clear that Godoy did not feature in the plans of the Blaugrana moving forward. He was subsequently farmed out on a pair of successive loans as the club's hierarchy looked to move the forward on, and this week's mutual termination therefore came as little surprise to those following his situation.
Club statement
Confirming the news across the club's official website and social media channels, Barcelona released a statement wishing the departing attacker well for the future.
'FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Canarian striker Alan Godoy to resolve the contractual relationship that united the player with the Club.'
'FC Barcelona would like to express its gratitude to Alan Godoy for his commitment, dedication and professionalism during his time at the Club, and wishes him good luck and many successes in both his personal and professional life.'
The departure marks the latest squad adjustment at reserve-team level as Barcelona continue to reshape their attacking options ahead of the new campaign, with Godoy now free to seek a new club on a permanent basis.
