The Athletic's Serie A page spotlights daily soccer Connections puzzle and Panini card listings

A new daily soccer puzzle for Serie A readers

The Athletic's Serie A hub has rolled out an interactive word game aimed at football fans. The feature, branded as a soccer-themed twist on the publication's popular format, challenges readers to group related soccer terms.

"Connections: Soccer Edition — Group soccer terms that share a common thread. A new puzzle is available each day," the page reads, prompting visitors to "Play today's puzzle."

Panini and memorabilia listings highlight Serie A greats

The same section surfaces a marketplace of collector trading cards tied to Italian football history and current prospects. Listings on the page include a "Panini Select Serie A 2025-26 Michel Platini Pitchside Auto /49 #PS-MP" priced at $225.00, and a "Marcelo Salas 1998-99 Merlin Serie A Ruby Parallel #31 /100 Lazio" listed at $699.99.

A recent rookie card is also featured: the "2024-25 Panini Select Bronze Checker /45 Alphadjo Cisse RC Verona (AC MILAN)" is available for $215.00. A separate, non-football item — a "Garbage Pail Kids x MLB 11a Split Shohei Ohtani Dodgers GPK Series 3" card at $590.00 — also appears in the listings feed.

The page operates largely as a navigation and commerce surface for Serie A coverage, with the puzzle and card marketplace occupying the prominent slots typically reserved for match reports and transfer news.
