RCB crush CSK by 43 runs as record chase pressure exposes Chennai top order

RCB’s batting blitz sets up emphatic CSK victory

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings during their IPL match

Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, securing their second win and extending their dominance in the rivalry.

RCB’s batting unit produced a formidable 250/3, described as the highest total of IPL 2026 at the time. Devdutt Padikkal set the platform with a fluent 50 from 29 balls before Tim David and Rajat Patidar delivered a late assault.

David finished unbeaten on 70 from just 25 deliveries, while Patidar struck an unbeaten 48 off 19 balls. Their power-hitting pushed the home side to a total that left Chennai facing a steep asking rate.

CSK’s response never fully gathered momentum. Sarfaraz Khan top-scored with 50 from 24 balls and Prashant Veer made 43, but the rest of the top order struggled under scoreboard pressure. Chennai were eventually bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the RCB attack with an incisive 3-41 spell and also crossed 200 IPL wickets. The victory marked RCB’s fourth consecutive win over CSK, the first time the Bengaluru franchise has achieved that sequence in IPL history.
