Igor Tudor Criticizes Tottenham's Lack of Effort After 2-1 Defeat to Fulham

Tottenham's Relegation Woes Deepen After Loss to Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a disheartening 2-1 defeat away at Fulham on Sunday, marking the second loss in as many games under new manager Igor Tudor. The result has intensified the north London club's relegation fears, leaving them just four points above the drop zone and extending their winless run in the Premier League to 10 games—the longest such streak since 1994 under Ossie Ardiles.

Igor Tudor addressing media after Tottenham's defeat

The match began poorly for Spurs, who found themselves trailing 1-0 early on courtesy of Harry Wilson's volley. Tottenham players protested, claiming Fulham's Raul Jimenez had impeded Radu Dragusin in the build-up, but the goal stood. Matters worsened after halftime when Alex Iwobi curled in a stunning strike from outside the area, the ball kissing the inside of the post on its way to the net.

Substitute Richarlison pulled one back for Tudor’s side, but it proved insufficient as Tottenham slumped to a fourth consecutive league defeat. Post-match, the Croatian coach was scathing in his assessment, pinpointing a comprehensive failure across the pitch.

He told Sky Sports: "We were not good, we lacked everything. Attacking and defending, Fulham were much better. There are problems here, big problems."

Despite the grim form, Tudor emphasized the importance of maintaining mental resilience. "We are just thinking about the next game," he added. "We don't need to think about that [relegation]. Not because it cannot happen, but we must focus on growing our mentality as a team, on our concentration, physically. These are the only goals we must have."

Fulham's Double Delight and Iwobi's Star Turn

Fulham boss Marco Silva hailed his team's dominant display, which secured a league double over Tottenham for the first time since the 2003-04 season. Iwobi was the standout performer, not only scoring the decisive second goal but also creating the most chances on the field with four.

Silva praised his midfielder to BBC Sport: "It's one of his best goals, he is capable of doing these types of things. He is stronger when he tries to choose a corner and make a strong pass. It was a brilliant moment for him. It was a great performance overall. From an offensive point of view, we enjoyed it – we were dynamic, creating chances, making it difficult for them."
