Barcelona Add Club Brugge Striker Nicolò Tresoldi to Shortlist as Julián Alvarez Talks Stall

La Liga giants Barcelona have expanded their search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the upcoming campaign, identifying Club Brugge sensation Nicolò Tresoldi as a key target on their shortlist.

The Blaugrana have been actively seeking fresh firepower to lead the frontline under manager Hansi Flick. While Barcelona's primary priority had initially been Atlético Madrid forward Julián Alvarez, negotiations have hit a brick wall due to the capital club's firm refusal to conduct business with a direct domestic rival.

Tresoldi Emerges as Key Alternative

Faced with Atlético's unwillingness to engage in talks, sporting director Deco and the Camp Nou hierarchy have been forced to look elsewhere, setting their sights on 21-year-old German youth international Nicolò Tresoldi.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Diario Sport:

“One of the players who is being closely followed by the sporting area is Nicolò Tresoldi, revelation striker of the Belgian League and top scorer of Brugge last season.”

Tresoldi enjoyed a remarkable breakout campaign in Belgium, registering 23 goals and nine assists across all competitions for Club Brugge. His form and profile have caught the attention of Flick, who is understood to be a major admirer of his compatriot's technical ability and predatory instincts in the penalty box.

Competition and Price Tag

Securing Tresoldi's signature will not be straightforward for Barcelona. The German striker has also attracted substantial interest from several Premier League clubs. Consequently, Club Brugge are in a commanding negotiating position and are demanding a transfer fee in excess of €40 million to sanction a departure during the current transfer window.
