Barça receive €50m injection as Torres heads to Paris

La Liga giants Barcelona are set for an imminent injection of funds for use on the transfer front after confirmation of a deal finally being put in place between the Blaugrana and Paris Saint-Germain for Ferran Torres.

Frontman Ferran has seen his name dominate the transfer headlines across Europe for several weeks. Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third with a view to the season ahead, Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain identified the 26-year-old as the ideal addition.

Luis Enrique is understood to be a keen admirer of his fellow countryman’s talents, a key factor in PSG’s pursuit. Ahead of the expiration of his contract terms in Catalonia’s capital in the summer of 2027, the two clubs recently kickstarted negotiations over the terms of a permanent transfer, and this week a definitive agreement has been found.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported:

‘Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain, HERE WE GO! Deal confirmed for World Cup final hero as Barça receive a fee worth €50m from PSG. Ferran only wanted Paris, and the agreement has been sealed after being at final stages for several days. All done.’

The sale provides Barcelona with much-needed funds ahead of the summer window while allowing Torres to move to a club of his choice under Luis Enrique.
