Tammy Beaumont signs new two-year deal to stay with treble-winning Blaze until 2028
Tammy Beaumont has signed a new two-year contract with The Blaze, committing the decorated former England batter to the Trent Bridge-based club until at least the end of the 2028 season.
The 35-year-old agreed fresh terms just three months after calling time on her 16-year international career, extending a career that will now stretch into its 21st season in 2028 — nearly two decades after it began with Kent in 2007.

Treble heroics capped a milestone season
Rather than stepping back from the game after her England exit, Beaumont threw herself into the domestic campaign and helped The Blaze complete a clean sweep of the major trophies in 2026, winning the T20 Blast, the County Cup and the One-Day Cup.
The treble was sealed in the most dramatic fashion on 20 September, when Emma Jones struck a last-ball boundary to see off Hampshire in the One-Day Cup final. Beaumont batted deep into the chase for a patient half-century from 75 balls — surviving a dropped catch and a missed stumping before being pinned lbw — and the outcome hung in the balance when a late run-out left three runs still needed, only for Jones, who had kept the chase alive with two fours in the penultimate over, to hit the winning boundary.
“I'm so excited to be here for another couple of years as we hopefully try to defend some of our trophies we won this year,” Beaumont told the club website.
Beaumont has been with The Blaze since the team was renamed and relocated from Loughborough to Trent Bridge in 2022, having previously represented the club when it was known as Lightning. She has since amassed more than 2,600 runs in 78 appearances across all formats for The Blaze and its predecessor, more than 900 of which came in 35 appearances during the 2026 season.
Recognition for one of England's modern greats
Beaumont left the international stage after 16 years having scored more than 7,300 runs for England across 140 one-day internationals, 109 T20 internationals and 12 Tests, and having been part of the World Cup-winning side of 2017. She also featured for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred last season.
Her contributions were honoured at the Professional Cricketers' Association awards, as reported on 1 October, where she received a Special Merit Award following her international retirement — part of a round of recognition for departing England stars that also saw former captain Heather Knight collect the Outstanding Contribution Award.
The Blaze head coach Craig Cumming said Beaumont would be an “incredibly important part” of the squad going forward, describing her as “one of the highest-quality players of this generation”.
With her future secured until at least 2028, Beaumont will now set about defending the silverware she helped gather in 2026 when the new campaign gets under way.
