Two former Barcelona youngsters have been reunited at Portuguese side SC Braga after teenage midfielder Tommy Marqués completed his transfer to the Primeira Liga outfit on Friday.

Marqués, 19, had been heavily linked with a departure from Catalonia throughout the summer transfer window. Aware of the difficulty in securing regular first-team minutes in Hansi Flick's talent-packed midfield, the youngster opted to seek a new challenge where he could establish himself as a consistent starter.

Braga, keen to bolster their options in the middle of the park, moved quickly to express their interest. Following several weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, the Arsenalistas finally landed their primary midfield target.

Waiting for Marqués in his new home was a familiar face — former Barcelona teammate Pau Víctor. The forward made the same switch from Barcelona to Braga last summer and has since enjoyed a productive spell in Portugal.

With Marqués' arrival confirmed, Braga brought the two former Blaugrana prospects back together, sharing a photo of the reunion that highlighted the strong Barcelona connection now running through the Portuguese club's squad.

Both players will now be hoping to continue their development at Braga, with Víctor's successful adaptation to Portuguese football serving as an encouraging blueprint for the newly-arrived Marqués.
