Rangers resist Makhanya sale pressure as Italy and Spain circle young defender
Rangers are under no pressure to sell centre-back Olwethu Makhanya despite growing interest from Italy and Spain, with Brentford and Sunderland also scouting. Vanja Dragojevic and Makhanya top a new potential study, teenage defender David Odunukan is eyed by England, and Dujon Sterling has been cleared to return.
Rangers summer rebuild under McInnes delivers back-to-back Celtic wins
Rangers’ 14-player summer window focused on physicality, speed and a younger squad has helped Derek McInnes’ side win six in a row, including consecutive Old Firm victories over Celtic, as the club reshapes recruitment under chairman Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers.
Makhanya value quadruples to £12m just months after Rangers switch
New CIES Football Observatory data values Rangers defender Olwethu Makhanya at £12m, a dramatic rise from the £3m Rangers paid Philadelphia Union to sign the South Africa international earlier this summer.
Roy Keane Plays Down Celtic Links as Pressure Mounts on Martin O'Neill After Old Firm Loss
Roy Keane has played down suggestions linking him with the Celtic manager's job after attending the Old Firm defeat, as Martin O'Neill weighs his future and developments unfold across Hibernian, Aberdeen, and Rangers.
Ryan Naderi sinks Celtic again as Rangers land second Old Firm blow in a week to cut Hoops' Premiership lead to two points
Ryan Naderi's strike gave Rangers a 1-0 win at Celtic Park — their second Old Firm victory in eight days — to cut Celtic's Scottish Premiership lead to two points. Auston Trusty had an early effort ruled out for offside, Ivor Pandur made a huge save to deny Colby Donovan and Olwethu Makhanya's volley was disallowed for handball as Derek McInnes became the first manager since 1991 to win his first two Old Firm games. Celtic were booed off at full-time, with Martin O'Neill calling for a 'rethink and reset'.
Naderi strike stuns Celtic as McInnes' Rangers seal second Old Firm win in a week
Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 at Celtic Park to make it two Old Firm wins in a week, as Ryan Naderi's goal cuts the title gap to two points, deepens Martin O'Neill's uncertainty over his future and fuels belief that Derek McInnes has finally turned the tide in Glasgow.
