Davina Perrin's Record-Breaking Century Propels Northern Superchargers to The Hundred Final

London, UK – A sensational century from 18-year-old Davina Perrin has powered the Northern Superchargers into The Hundred final, after a dominant 42-run victory over London Spirit in a thrilling Eliminator match at The Oval.

Perrin’s blistering unbeaten knock of 101 runs came off a mere 43 balls, featuring seven boundaries and five sixes, dismantling the defending champions and etching her name in the competition’s history books. Her extraordinary innings not only became the highest individual score in the Women's Hundred but also propelled the Superchargers to a record-breaking total of 214 for 5 – the highest team score ever recorded in the tournament.

Perrin's Explosive Display

Perrin, who had limited game time in previous seasons, showcased her immense potential with this match-winning performance. Reaching her fifty in just 25 balls, she maintained a controlled aggression throughout, sending the ball soaring over deep square leg, long-off, and long-on with ease. Her century, achieved off 42 deliveries, narrowly missed the record for the fastest century in the competition, falling just short of a 41-ball milestone, but was more than enough to secure her team's place in the final.

"Perrin's exceptional batting display was the cornerstone of the Superchargers' innings," as described in one report, highlighting her pivotal role.

The Superchargers' innings was built on a formidable 105-run opening stand between Perrin and Phoebe Litchfield, who contributed a quickfire 35. Even after a momentary setback when Davidson-Richards was run out, Perrin continued her relentless assault. She was eventually dismissed for 101, run out after a deflection, but not before ensuring her team posted an unassailable target.

London Spirit's Struggle

In response to the Superchargers' imposing total, London Spirit faltered early, slumping to a precarious 12 for 3 within the first 12 deliveries. Despite a valiant effort from Charli Knott, who smashed a quickfire 40 off 16 balls, and Georgia Redmayne's unbeaten 50 off 30 balls, the target proved insurmountable.

The Superchargers' bowlers were equally impressive. Grace Ballinger was instrumental with the ball, taking three crucial wickets for just 22 runs, while Annabel Sutherland also chipped in with three wickets for 40 runs, maintaining control throughout the Spirit's chase. A crucial 63-run partnership in just 24 balls between Knott and Cordelia Griffith offered a glimmer of hope for the Spirit, but the damage had already been done.

London Spirit ultimately fell short by 42 runs, unable to overcome the massive target set by the Superchargers.

Road to the Final

With this emphatic victory, the Northern Superchargers have secured their spot in The Hundred final, where they will face Southern Brave at Lord's. All eyes will now be on the Superchargers to see if they can maintain their electrifying form and lift the trophy.
