Jayant Yadav Joins Puducherry for Upcoming Domestic Season
Jayant Yadav Transfers to Puducherry in Pursuit of All-Format Play
Experienced India offspinner Jayant Yadav, 35, has officially signed with Puducherry for the forthcoming domestic season. The move follows his receipt of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Haryana, the team he has represented with distinction since his first-class debut in the 2011-12 season.
Yadav's decision to switch teams stems from his ambition to play across all three formats of the game. He has not been a regular in white-ball cricket for Haryana since their Vijay Hazare Trophy triumph in 2023-24, with the team management increasingly favoring younger spin all-rounders like Nishant Sindhu and Rahul Tewatia.
His last outing for Haryana was in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy, where he showcased his prowess by bagging 28 wickets in eight matches, concluding his tenure with the team in February.
With a career spanning 90 first-class matches, Yadav boasts an impressive record of 265 wickets and has proven his capability with the bat, accumulating 2924 runs, including three centuries and 14 half-centuries. He is also remembered for his record-breaking eighth-wicket partnership of 392 runs with Amit Mishra.

At Puducherry, Yadav will be joining fellow professionals Puneet Datey and Siddhant Adhatrao. His signing was a late development, reportedly coming in as a replacement for Armaan Jaffer.
Beyond domestic cricket, Yadav has represented India in six Tests and two T20Is. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he currently plays for the Gujarat Titans, having previously had stints with the Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians.
