Chelsea Cancels Nicolas Jackson Loan to Bayern Munich Due to Injury Concerns

Chelsea has made a dramatic U-turn on Nicolas Jackson's impending loan move to Bayern Munich, canceling the transfer at the last minute. The decision comes after Chelsea's summer signing, Liam Delap, suffered a muscular injury during a match, leaving the squad with only João Pedro as a recognized striker. Manager Enzo Maresca expressed concerns about Delap's recovery timeline, stating, "Hopefully it’s not long, but this kind of case can be six, eight weeks."
Bayern Munich had agreed to pay €15 million (£13 million, $17.5 million) for Jackson's loan with an option to make the deal permanent for €65 million. Jackson had already arrived in Munich and was photographed with fans before his medical. Despite the cancellation, Jackson and his agent remain in Germany, attempting to salvage the move. Bayern director Max Eberl commented, "Jackson is still here. After the match, we will act. I can’t say exactly what’s going on yet."
If the loan falls through, Chelsea will still have one remaining overseas loan spot available. Meanwhile, the club may need to explore additional attacking options if Delap's injury proves severe.
