Alejandro Garnacho Joins Chelsea on a Seven-Year Contract

In a blockbuster move, Chelsea Football Club has officially announced the signing of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. The 21-year-old Argentine international was present at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Fulham, with the transfer confirmed shortly after the match. Garnacho has committed his future to Chelsea by signing a seven-year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2032.

Alejandro Garnacho has signed a long-term deal with Chelsea.

While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, reports suggest it is in the region of £40 million, with an additional 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer. Garnacho expressed his excitement about joining the club, stating, "It's an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can't wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special—we're the best team in the world! It's amazing to be here and I'm very happy."

From Manchester United to Chelsea

Garnacho rose through the ranks at Manchester United, making his first-team debut in 2022 after playing a pivotal role in their FA Youth Cup triumph. Over three seasons, he made 144 appearances for the club. His departure from Manchester United reportedly stems from frustrations over his role in the team, leading to a split with manager Ruben Amorim. The club released a statement thanking Garnacho for his contributions and wishing him luck in his new chapter.

Chelsea celebrated the signing by having Garnacho pose in his new blue kit, a nod to his trademark goal celebration at Manchester United, where he would often perch on advertising hoardings.
