Lewandowski Returns to Polish National Team After Stripped Captaincy
Robert Lewandowski, the star striker for FC Barcelona, has officially returned to international football after a period of absence. The 37-year-old forward was included in the latest Poland squad, signaling his comeback to the international stage.
Earlier this summer, Lewandowski had announced his decision to make himself unavailable for international duty following his stripping of the captain's armband by then-manager Michal Probierz. The Polish Football Association subsequently dismissed Probierz, and the newly appointed head coach, Jan Urban, made it a priority to persuade Lewandowski to return to the national team.
Urban's efforts have now paid off, with Lewandowski's inclusion in the squad confirmed on Friday. The prolific goalscorer is expected to feature in upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Finland next month, where he will aim to add to his international goal tally.

The announcement was made via an official post, stating: "POWOŁANIA Selekcjoner reprezentacji Polski Jan Urban ogłosił listę zawodników powołanych na wrześniowe zgrupowanie oraz mecze z Holandią i Finlandią."
