Nottingham Forest Signs Versatile Defender Nicolo Savona from Juventus

Nottingham Forest has completed its ninth summer transfer, signing defender Nicolo Savona from Juventus on a five-year deal. The deal is reported to be worth up to £13.4 million (approximately €15.5 million).

The 22-year-old Italian defender brings a wealth of experience despite his young age. Having progressed through Juventus's academy since he was eight years old, Savona made his senior debut in August 2024. During his time with Juventus, he made 40 appearances for the first team across competitions like Serie A, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup, contributing to five clean sheets.

Savona becomes the second player to join Forest from Juventus this transfer window, following the loan signing of Douglas Luiz for the 2025-26 season.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Savona said, "I am very excited to be here. It is a new experience for me as a person and a player. It is such a historic club, and the move is a dream come true. I can't wait to play in front of the fans at the City Ground, and I will give my all for the shirt."

Savona recently signed a new contract with Juventus in June and earned his first senior Italy call-up last November. His arrival is expected to bolster Forest's defense as they prepare for their first European campaign in 30 years, participating in the Europa League this season. The club has also secured other key signings, including Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee, Arnaud Kalimuendo, and Dan Ndoye.
