Yunus Musah Poised for Serie A Loan Move to Atalanta from AC Milan
Yunus Musah Secures Serie A Loan to Atalanta
U.S. men’s national team midfielder Yunus Musah is reportedly on the cusp of a significant move to Serie A club Atalanta. The talented player is set to join Atalanta on loan from AC Milan, with the deal carrying a potential valuation of up to €25 million (approximately $29.2 million), which includes a buy option, signaling a strong interest from the Bergamo-based club.
This transfer comes after a summer marked by intense transfer speculation surrounding the young midfielder. Musah’s impending departure from AC Milan is expected to be finalized just ahead of the European transfer deadline on Monday.

Musah originally joined AC Milan from Valencia CF in 2023 for a reported $21 million. During his tenure at San Siro, he made 82 appearances for the Rossoneri, showcasing his versatility, most recently featuring as a right wingback in Milan's 2-0 victory over Lecce.
The move to Atalanta also follows Musah's exclusion from the latest USMNT roster for September friendlies. His next opportunity to represent the U.S. national team will be in October, during friendlies against Ecuador and Australia.
Reflecting on his absence from the Concacaf Gold Cup, which saw the U.S. fall to Mexico in the final with a primarily MLS-based squad, Musah had previously stated, "Honestly, I was gutted that I couldn’t go to the Gold Cup... I needed to make that decision for myself because I needed to switch off after a tough season. I needed that time off."
Before his time at Valencia and AC Milan, Musah honed his skills in Arsenal's esteemed academy in England. His move to Atalanta is anticipated to provide him with new opportunities and challenges in one of Europe's top leagues.
Atalanta's next fixture is scheduled after the international break against Lecce, a team Musah recently played against with AC Milan. A potential reunion with his former AC Milan teammates could occur on October 29, promising an intriguing encounter in the Serie A calendar.
