England manager Thomas Tuchel has shed light on the notable absences of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jack Grealish from his latest squad, announced for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia. Tuchel attributed their omission to the burgeoning talent and fierce competition for places within the national team.

Despite both players being highly regarded for their respective club performances, Tuchel opted for alternative selections in their positions. For the crucial full-back role, Reece James and Tino Livramento were chosen, with Djed Spence also receiving his inaugural call-up to the senior squad. In the midfield and attacking departments, Marcus Rashford and Eberechi Eze were favored over Grealish, signaling a shift in the squad's dynamic.

Tuchel acknowledged the aspirations of both Alexander-Arnold and Grealish to represent their country, emphasizing that the door is not closed to them for future selections.
